A New Career for Rolando Villazon?

Rolando Villazon, the tenor super-star, has signed on to be the stage director for the January run of Massenet's Werther with the Opéra National de Lyon, France's second major opera company.
The new production opens on Jan. 24 for eight performances through Feb. 7.
Arturo Chacon-Cruz will be singing the title role with dйcor by Franзois Sйguin, costumes by Thibault Vancraenenbroeck with Nola Rae listed as the "Mise en mouvement" - which could be roughly translated as "Movement Director."
Apart from a series of concerts in Europe in November 2010 it is the only listing on his website for 2011 except for a single concert in late January in Salzburg.
